DOWNTOWN EUGENE - Halloween for one local girl was anything but typical. Instead of candy, she went door to door collecting used eye glasses.

Fifth grader Ivy Liberko says she got the idea from a magazine. Wednesday, she donated a total of 69 pairs to the Eugene Lions Club. " My goal was 100 but then we changed it to 50," she says. "I didn't think I would get this many. It makes me feel really good."

The glasses will be wrapped up and shipped out to those who need them in other countries. Ivy says besides collecting on Halloween, she spent the past three weeks putting out door hangers, posting flyers, and included a notice in her school newspaper.
