Man falls off cliff on Oregon Coast

COOS BAY, Ore. — A Coast Guard helicopter rescued a 20-year-old man who fell from a 30-foot cliff south of Bastendorf Beach near Coos Bay, Ore., on Wednesday.

The Charleston Fire Department asked the Coast Guard Group North Bend for help around 5:10 p.m.. The man couldn't be reached by other methods due to the terrain.

An HH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Air Station North Bend flew to the scene to hoist the man and take him to Bay Area Hospital.

The man's identity and condition are not yet known.
