City Councilor George Brown said he's not sure exactly what that proposal would be, but it would involve some kind of public-private non-profit partnership to save Civic Stadium and develop the rest of the property. Brown said he knows it's decision time, but he's concerned most of Eugene's architectural heritage has been lost. "There's really very little left and this is one of the few structures that, because of its historic significance and the way that it's built out of timbers, I just feel that this is worth preserving and it's worth one more effort to try to save the old girl," he said.
