EUGENE, Ore. -- Hundreds of women gathered at the Lane Events Center to start planning for their big day at the 11th annual Oregon Wedding Showcase.
Friends and family accompanied the brides-to-be while wandering through the wedding wonderland.
Showcase organizer Judy VanValkenberg said some of the nearly 60 vendors came from as far away as Florida to exhibit their items.
“It's like a home-show for brides,” said VanValkenberg. “You can find DJs, cake bakers, caterers… and of course wedding dresses.”
The top attraction for many ladies was the wide array of wedding dresses. Oregon Wedding Showcase visitor Nicole said she’s set on finding the perfect dress for her big day.
“I'm looking for the blingy top. And then, the big, flowy bottom - really puffy,” said Nicole.
Judy said that many of the dresses won't cost an arm and a leg.
“They start anywhere from $99 and up to dresses that are thousands of dollars. So, it's really a good deal,” said VanValkenberg.
On average, VanValkenberg says the October show brings in about 300 brides...who usually bring two to three people.
“Some folks, they bring the groom, the mother and father, because usually, the father has his checkbook,” laughed Judy.
