Sgt. Doug Calef said more officers were called to the scene after a struggle at the front door. "We try to do our job safely," he said. "We're pretty well trained, but it's not a safe environment for one officer to go in and try to resolve it." Calef said dispersing a party takes times. "We don't want to kick 30 intoxicated partygoers out to go driving on the streets," he said. "I know it looks overwhelming, but we're not going out there to mix it up with these people. We're going out there to take control of the situation. The more officers you have to do that, the safer it is for everybody."
