ROSEBURG, Ore. -- A Roseburg couple accused of poisoning a neighbor's dog with antifreeze back in May were arraigned, arrested and released from the Douglas County Jail this morning.

Bernard and Mitzi Daugherty were arrested Wednesday morning following their arraignment hearing.

Both were charged with aggravated animal abuse, conspiracy, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct. They were released from the jail shortly after their hearing Wednesday morning.

The couple is accused of leaving antifreeze in open containers on their property. A neighbor's dog allegedly ingested the poison and died a few days later.

A trial for the couple is set for September 26.
