Weather Service: Watch for funnel clouds from Oregon storm

EUGENE, Ore. - Doppler radar showed rotation in some of the rain showers washing across Western Oregon on Tuesday, prompting the National Weather Service to ask the public to report any citings of funnel clouds.

"These funnel clouds do not usually touch the ground," forecasters said in a special weather statement Tuesday. "However, if they do touch the ground they are dangerous and can be damaging. "We have seen rotation in some of the showers this morning on the National Weather Service doppler radar. So keep an eye on the sky today and please pass on any reports of funnel clouds you may have."
