Eugene, Ore. - A Junction City man is $10,000 richer tonight thanks to a rare find at a Eugene store.

It's tough to say who feels luckier, the Junction City man who cashed in on this unique find or the Coos Bay man who bought it from him.

It's just a little sports card shop in Eugene but inside are big names like Tom Brady, and Randy Moss.

Hoping to collect Brady and crew, Chris Worley bought the 2007 Donruss NFL playoffs football set.

"I opened that set like a week later and this is what the cards are supposed to look like, just normal," says Worley.

But Worley's box was different. "I wound up getting cards that looked like this and it changed my life," shows Worley.

You see these cards are rare. Each set of 180 cards released by the Donruss company has something different that makes it unique. Collector Harold Thompson says the double rainbow on this one sets it above the rest.

"This is the best set that they put out. It's numbered one of one, it's a NFL platinum, holfoil on a double rainbow film board," says Thompson.

Basically finding this set is like hitting the jackpot. And Chris Worley was ready to sell the $100 pack for $10,000.

"When somethings in front of you like that, I just had to sell my 4 wheeler to get it. It was really no big deal because I'd rather have those cards," says Thompson.

"If you ever get cards that are really good you want to sell them while they're hot. I thought it over and put it in hard cases so they were all protected, and I got some offers and I ran with the best one," explains Worley.

To give you an idea of the offers out there, Ebay is listing a platinum set which is lower on the list of specialty releases this year. The going rate is $4,000 but knowing his is worth more, Thompson says he still won't sell.")

"I wouldn't, I just wouldn't sell that set. I just won't sell it if somebody offers me triple what I paid I might consider it but that's it I'm not going to sell that set," says Thompson.

The men tell me the story of there very rare find is also going to appear in a national collectible publication called Beckett.
