Interstate 5 to be closed near Winchester
DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. -- Drivers can expect a few delays on Interstate 5.
As construction continues around exit 129, Northbound I-5 will be closed for several nights.
The interstate will be down this upcoming Sunday, as well as Tuesday the 14th through Thursday the 16th.
The closures will take place from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
Crews are placing massive concrete beams on the new Del Rio Road overcrossing. The beams can only be put in place while traffic is clear, so motorists will detour onto Highway 99 for about half a mile.
Highway 99 will be closed in both directions at the old Winchester bridge, and southbound 99 traffic will be re-routed onto the existing Del Rio Road.
If you're heading to UCC on those nights, you're advised to either take I-5 north from Roseburg or HWY 99 south from Sutherlin.
The closure dates are weather permitting.
