Gardening against global warming
LANE CO. FAIRGROUNDS - The 3rd Annual Good Earth Home, Garden & Living Show continued Saturday at the Lane County Fairgrounds. People wandered around all the exhibits.
Senior Global Warming Specialist Patty Glick addressed a crowed of green-thumbed attendees. She talked about the findings of the National Wildlife Federation report called the Gardener's Guide to Global Warming. Glick said there are several steps you can take to battle global warming in your very own backyard.
"There are a lot of things that we can do to improve the energy efficiency in our yards, things like solar lighting," said Glick. "You don't even have to put wires in. Composting is a really big protector of the environment."
The event continues through Sunday.
