Snow. Lightning. Rain: Spring in Oregon

EUGENE, Ore. - Thunderstorm and snow are possible across Western Oregon from the valley to the mountain foothills, passes and peaks.

Snow levels are expected to fall to pass level tonight, with several inches of snow possible above 5,000 feet, the National Weather Service in Portland said.

"A slushy inch  or two of snow at pass level could briefly create hazardous travel conditions," forecasters warned. "Outdoor rereationists should also be prepared for winter- like weather across the higher Cascade mountains."

Small hail, isolated lightning and brief periods of heavy rain could accompany thunderstorms across western Oregon and Washington on Friday.
