EUGENE - At the Oregon Logging Conference, you'll find a man using a chainsaw for something more than just cutting down a tree, he's actually carving into the tree.

Bob King is the national carving champion, he showed us just how easy he can slice into a piece of wood a create a tree. But he's won contests for some of his more intricate and elaborate designs.

"It's just a thrill. It may be a loud obnoxious piece of equipment that's typically viewed as destructive, now we're doing artwork with it," says professional chainsaw artist King.

King is originally from Reedsport and has been making this art for about nine years. He's won the national championship title for the last two years in a row.
