OBF is Bach for 42nd season

EUGENE, Ore. -- The Oregon Bach Festival celebrated its 42nd annual opening night at the Hult Center Friday evening with a sold out show with Joshua Bell, preceded with a performance from the Pacific International Children's Choir.

This year the Oregon Bach Festival boasts 650 artists performing in 65 events in its two and a half week run, making this the largest Bach festival to date.

Director of communications for the OBF George Evano said that ticket sales are good, even in tough economic times.

"The Festival is like a magnet. The performers here are the best in their field." said Evano. "When you have that kind of draw, it attracts other artists and it attracts audiences too."

Events in the Oregon Bach Festival take place all along the Willamette valley, centered mostly in Eugene venues.
