Tasty Tuesday: The Sammitch Cart
»Play Video
EUGENE, Ore. - After graduating from the University of Oregon, KC Brooks made a big decision: He dropped nearly everything and headed off to Spain.
However, his overseas adventure was anything but a vacation trip.
As a student, Brooks found himself fully submerged in the "party" scene. Knowing that drugs and alcohol were threatening his future he knew he needed to make a change.
Eventually Brooks decided to return to Eugene, but he wanted to avoid falling into old habits. So he decided to come up with a project to keep himself busy. That project has come to be known as the Sammitch Cart.
With a name inspired by his teen years, the Sammitch Cart is more than just a mobile deli meat machine. In fact, Brooks is serving up his mom's old recipes between each slice of bread.
If Brooks isn't bringing a little more flavor to a local festival, you'll find him and his cart on 13th Avenue near Mill Street in Eugene.
