Springfield man back in U.S. after being held in Sudan

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - Rudwan Dawod is back in the United States after being held by secret police in his native Sudan.

The Springfield resident and former Lane Community College student will be home for the birth of his daughter.

His wife Nancy is due with the couple's first child Sept. 18.

Dawod was in Sudan working on a church building project when the government arrested him and accused him of being a spy.
