Candidates face off for council seat

EUGENE, Ore. - Elections are right around the corner, but not just for the President. There are a lot of local races as well.
Juan Carlos Valle, former chair of the Eugene Police Commission, is running against incumbent Betty Taylor for the Ward 2 seat on the Eugene City Council. Taylor has held the position since 1997.
Both Valle and Taylor faced off in a debate Sunday. The event was hosted by the League of Women Voters at the Wayne Morse Ranch.
Check out some of the debate in the raw video below.
I agree some commentary would have been expected. What I also expected with not to have snippets removed that were significatntly newsworthy, such as when Juan Carlos was asked what his conservative donors hoped for by backing him and ignored the question completely and did not address why a "progressive" pro environment candidate would be backed by developers.  Could it be he would not be quite so pro evironment if elected?
Hey, reporters, how about some of it HERE in a NEWS REPORT?
If we wanted to watch on TV, we probably would, but we are reading it on the ânet. so, how about a little reporting and a few details here? Just think of it as an online newspaper....... words, written words......
