Crews battle fire in Seaside; firefighter hurt

SEASIDE, Ore. — A fire destroyed four buildings in downtown Seaside Tuesday.

The Seaside Signal reports the fire started in the back of a former commercial laundry building and spread to another building.

One firefighter was injured, the newspaper reported. The severity of the injury is unclear.

The blaze started Tuesday at around 9:30 a.m.

Seaside crews were joined by firefighters from Cannon Beach, Gearhart and Warrenton.

It's unclear what started the fire. Police said they are looking for a person of interest who was seen running from the scene.
