TILLER, Ore. - The body of a 52-year-old Myrtle Creek man who disappeared after going for help when a vehicle got stuck has been found.

According to Debra Smith of Springfield, she and Walton had gone for a drive Sunday in the Johnnie Springs Road area near Tiller when they got stranded.

Walton planned to hike out to South Umpqua Highway but he never returned.  Smith was able to get the vehicle free and she drove to a nearby house for help.

Search and rescue crews found Walton's body Tuesday evening near the 200 block of Johnnie Springs Road, about 50 yards off the roadway and about one to two miles from where the vehicle had been stuck in the snow.

According to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, the death does not appear to be suspicious.
