Free, public, wireless Internet access is now available at all three City of Eugene pools and five city community centers. Members of the public who have laptops with built-in Wi-Fi or a Wi-Fi network card can now surf the Internet at Amazon, Campbell, Hilyard, River House and Sheldon Community Centers, as well as at Echo Hollow and Sheldon Pool and Fitness Centers. Wi-Fi was extended to Amazon Pool in 2007. Internet access at all sites will be available during each facility’s usual hours.

This latest extension of the City’s Wi-Fi is part of a strategy to provide Wi-Fi in and around City facilities throughout the community. The Wi-Fi service is funded for three years by the Telecommunications Tax Fund.

Free wireless Internet access is also available at these City of Eugene public facilities: the Hult Center; the Eugene Airport terminal; the Downtown Library and both the Bethel and Sheldon Library branch locations; the McNutt Room, City Council Chamber and courtyard area at City Hall; and the Downtown Park Blocks.
