Eugene expands free Wi-Fi
KVAL.com Google helps you find locations This is a press release courtesy of the City of Eugene Free, public, wireless Internet access is now available at all three City of Eugene pools and five city community centers. Members of the public who have laptops with built-in Wi-Fi or a Wi-Fi network card can now surf the Internet at Amazon, Campbell, Hilyard, River House and Sheldon Community Centers, as well as at Echo Hollow and Sheldon Pool and Fitness Centers. Wi-Fi was extended to Amazon Pool in 2007. Internet access at all sites will be available during each facility’s usual hours. This latest extension of the City’s Wi-Fi is part of a strategy to provide Wi-Fi in and around City facilities throughout the community. The Wi-Fi service is funded for three years by the Telecommunications Tax Fund. Free wireless Internet access is also available at these City of Eugene public facilities: the Hult Center; the Eugene Airport terminal; the Downtown Library and both the Bethel and Sheldon Library branch locations; the McNutt Room, City Council Chamber and courtyard area at City Hall; and the Downtown Park Blocks. |
