Party with the stars
By KVAL Web StaffEUGENE, Ore. - Curious about astronomy? The Eugene Astronomical Society wants to help you see stars. The society's next star party is Friday, May 9, at 8:30 p.m. at the College Hill Reservoir at 24th and Lawrence in Eugene. This party is the second in the society's series of "First Quarter Fridays" held each month on the Friday closest to the first quarter moon. May 9 also coincides with the national observance of Astronomy Day, which is May 10. The society offers people an opportunity to try a variety of telescopes. Astronomers will be on hand to explain what participants see. The event is open to the public, and admission is free. Dates and times for upcoming star parties in Eugene: June 13 9 p.m. |
