Cinco de Mayo may be over, but there’s still reason to celebrate in Eugene: May 6, 2008, marks the grand opening of the first customer service center to serve Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental, and Alamo Rent A Car. The three brands are owned by the Taylor Family of St. Louis, whose companies include a worldwide network of more than 8,000 neighborhood-based and airport car rental locations.

The event at the Eugene Contact Center begins at 10:30 a.m. and includes a tour of the facility, located at 190 W. 8th Ave. Lane County Partnership Executive Director Jack Roberts, Eugene Mayor Kitty Piercy, a representative from the office of Congressman Peter DeFazio, and car rental executives will participate in the ceremony.

The facility’s staff is expected to handle more than 10,000 car rental reservation and customer service calls per day. To date, approximately 150 full- and part-time employees have been hired, and at full capacity the center will employ approximately 250 people from Lane County and surrounding areas.

We’re especially grateful for the warm welcome we’ve received and all of the hard work of Jack Roberts and the Lane County Partnership as well as Lisa Ruiz and Jim Pfarrer of the Workforce Network," said Lisa Burgess, Vice President of Business Development for Enterprise, National and Alamo.
