EUGENE, Ore. - The City of Eugene might build a skate park in Washington/Jefferson Park.

City officials like the site because of its central location and large covered area under the I-105 bridge.

"I think that would be pretty practical for the kids and productive for them, too," said Christopher Sekrak of Eugene.

A local group, Skate-Eugene, set a fundraising goal of $200,000 by the end of 2009. About $500,000 is needed for teh design and construction of the new park.
