Pre Classic heats up Hayward

EUGENE, Ore. - All eyes are on Eugene for the 2008 Olympic Track and Field Trials.

First, some of track and fields best will warm up the oval at Hayward Field for the 2008 Prefontaine Classic.

Gates open at 8:30 a.m.

Sunday's Prefontaine Classic will unfold this year at Hayward Field in Eugene, expanded for the U.S. Olympic Trials.

Promoter Tom Jordan is thinking about an attendance record.

Jordan says he is ''hoping for 14,000,'' The Associated Press reports.

That would break the record of 13,856 in 1997.

Tickets are $28.50 reserved, $19.50general admission, $16.50 seniors and students, $3.50 Child’s General Admission (2-10). Under 2 are free.
