2 injured in head-on crash near Brownsville
The crash sent both drivers to the hospital

BROWNSVILLE, Ore. - A sedan crashed head-on into an SUV on Monday night, sending both drivers to the hospital.

The crash a mile east of Brownsville closed Highway 228 for 90 minutes.

Just before 7 p.m., a 2006 Honda Accord driven by Rhonda K. Horner, 60, of Halsey was westbound when it crossed into oncoming traffic, state police said.

The Honda crashed head-on into a 2005 Chevy SUV driven by William Brady, 46, of Crawfordsville.

Rescue workers pulled Horner from the wreckage and rushed her to the hospital by helicopter with serious injuries, police said.

Brady was taken to the hospital by ground ambulance for treatment of minor injuries.

State police was assisted at the scene by Linn County Sheriff's Office, Brownsville Rural Fire District, Halsey Shedd Fire Protection District, Sweet Home Fire & Ambulance District and Oregon DOT.

Trooper Casey Hunter is the lead investigator.
