25 arrested in meth, heroin bust on Oregon Coast

SEASIDE, Ore. – Authorities arrested 20 people during a methamphetamine and heroin investigation in the Seaside area on the Oregon Coast.
A drug task force served search warrants and made the arrests Sunday morning.
Police announced four more arrests early this week on drug charges. A fifth arrest was made with charges pending.
The 6-month investigation, dubbed “Operation: Pandora’s Box”, led police to three separate residences, including a house along Highway 26 with a compound of six trailers surrounding it. Detectives said the compound was a “significant source” of heroin and meth in Clatsop County.
None of the trailers in the compound had electricity or water service. There were electrical cords running to each of the trailers from a nearby generator. Police said sewage from the compound was directed through pipes into the Necanicum River, which flows alongside the property.
Detectives said they found hundreds of uncapped needles, small amounts of blood, and buckets of urine and feces inside.
Members of the drug task force received several complaints about the three separate homes and some of the suspects over the past six months. Neighbors complained about a house and an apartment in Seaside that they told police received a “high volume of drug traffic.”
Detectives said of the 20 people arrested, there were one mother and daughter pair and two pairs of fathers and sons.
Police also seized an unspecified amount of drugs, along with $2,500 in cash.
“As sheriff of this county, I would like to thank all the deputies and officers involved from the numerous agencies who worked diligently to help with this large case,” said Clatsop County Sheriff Tom Bergin. “They did an excellent job and I am proud to work with these individuals every day.”
at least they got power and water now. Â I bet they are relieved to get busted. Â Imagine getting to flush the toilet.
That's 20 fewer people voting for romney/ryan! Â thank god.
No, they are pieces of crap until they prove otherwise. I'd say the gene pool in the Seaside area needs some cleaning up.
Addiction sometimes is NOT a choice, addicts do recover and recovery can happen, not all drug addicts are pieces of crap they are humans just like you, maybe they lacked responsible parenting as a child, maybe their loss was so big and nobody was there for them, people like you who lack addiction knowledge and recovery knowledge are just rude, may you someday eat your own words and sufer your own dose of reality, I'm sure you aren't perfect Â
 @April Miller Nope, it's completely a choice. You choose to take the drugs in the first place, knowing that they can be addictive. There are no excuses and nobody to blame but oneself.
Addiction has changed into a whole different animal than it was even 10 years ago. The heroin stories of the kids these days started with taking oxycontin ... a "harmless pill" or so they thought. Hey ... it's better than doing meth right? They had no idea that this drug was nothing but synthetic heroin that causes an addiction so powerful that they can't stop .. and when it got too expensive, they found what eased their dope sickness. Heroin. Inexpensive and accessible, I guarantee you that not one of these kids got into heroin thinking they were going to end up heroin junkies, and it's turning into an epidemic. These people are addicts yes, but they are also our sons and our daughters, friends and family and they need help!
@None UNLESS and UNTIL they SEEK HELP on their OWN there will be no change in their behavior. The addiction that they chose owns them until they decide to get help. Until then, our "help" is wasted on them.
Â
Yikes!! Kinda gives new meaning to the term "American Pickers"
This is where our government needs to be. looking into the hard drugs and bringing them down. KUDOS
This is a chance for the daughter to break away from the mother and the sons from their fathers. The one in the red shirt looks like he needs away from his father.Â
Wow, those are some damn good looking people! Not at all terrifying LOL
Naa some panty waist judge will let them all walk. We the people can not afford to keep these scum in jail.
Now if they will just keep the addicts in jail where they belong...for a long long time...and give them corn flakes for breakfast, peanut butter and jelly for lunch and a hod dog for dinner. If fact let there families provide there food and care like they do in other countries...why should we support them when we can not even support ourselves...
 @sherrie Addiction is a disease, not a crime.Â
@Nogod&Nogovt @sherrie That's offensive.  Drug use is a personal CHOICE just like every other choice people make.  Your attempt to dismiss the PERSONAL responsibility these people have for their situations is sickening.  Good luck with that. Socialism didn't work in the Soviet Union and it won't work here either.
 @Nogod&Nogovt  @sherrie Addiction is a disease of choice that creates crime.
 @Nogod&Nogovt  @UsaidWHAT you dont need meth to live you ,,,well I need air to live.
@UsaidWHAT HOW RUDE
 @Nogod&Nogovt  @UsaidWHAT Get a dictionary. A disease is an abnormal condition affecting the body of an organism. Breathing is NOT a disease because it is not abnormal to humans. Perhaps you have suffered from a lack of breathing causing brain cell death? Unless drugs are ingested by accident or covert poisoning unbeknownst to a person, it was a personal choice to begin drug usage and thereby become an addict. By that logic addiction IS a disease that was at least STARTED by choice. We ALL know drugs have a tendency to cause addiction so to start by choice is to risk addiction by choice.
And the young girls chose to take on the disease...knowing full well what they were doing! Meth...nasty, nasty stuff!!!
 @Nogod&Nogovt Addicts are losers that wasted their whole lives screwing off and ruining their lives and the lives of everyone around them . Then when they hit rock bottom they cry and snivel and want people who have worked hard to give them money and help them out.
 @RelaxThereIsNoGod  @Ritual99  @Nogod&Nogovt he would do my lawn
 @Ritual99  @Nogod&Nogovt Spoken like a true Christian. As an Atheist, I often ask myself "What would Jesus do?".
Source?..., looks more like end users. 6-month for a pond full of little fish, I wonder how much money was wasted for such small returns.
and there out
With all that "Extra" Energy they had , they should have had enough free time to install a toilet or two....
