EUGENE, Ore. - The president of a motorcycle club accused of running two police officer off the road will be released from jail due to overcrowding after serving a day of a 360 day sentence.

On Monday, a judge sentenced Justin Jame DeLoretto, 27, to 180 days on each of two counts of menacing. A jury found him guilty on those charges and two other misdemeanors last week, but acquitted him on eight felony charges.

The Lane County Sheriff's Office issued a press release at 1:42 p.m. Tuesday announcing that DeLoretto would be released due to jail overcrowding.

"His release from custody is necessary due to the lack of available jail beds and his lower risk level as compared to other inmates in custody," the release read. "He will be placed on the Sheriff’s Office Inmate Road Crew Program for 21-days.  Afterward, he will be transferred to being supervised in the community by the Probation Office."

Lane County Judge Debra Vogt also suspended DeLoretto's driver's license and sentenced him to five years of probation during which he will not be allowed to associate with club membrs or wear the club's paraphernalia.

Prosecutor Stephen Morgan said DeLoretto has been affiliated with various gangs - including racist skinheads and outlaw motorcycle gangs - since age 18. DeLoretto has been convicted for assault in two previous gang-related attacks.
