Kansas rape suspect may be headed for Oregon

The Sedgwick County, Kansas Sheriff's Office and Oregon State Police are asking the public to help located a fugitive from justice possibly headed to Oregon wanted in connection with the robbery, kidnapping and rape of a convenience store clerk last week.

Robert D. Abner, age 39, is wanted out of Kansas on seven counts of rape, two counts of aggravated criminal sodomy, one count of aggravated robbery and one count of aggravated kidnapping.

Abner is described as a white male, 6 feet tall, 300 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Abner has had facial hair in the past but may have shaved and could still have several days' growth of beard.

Abner is last known to be driving a dark blue or black 1995 Lexus SC 400 displaying Kansas license plates 573 AAM.

Abner was reportedly born in Eugene.  According to Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office, he may possibly be headed to Oregon where he may have several acquaintances in the area.

Anyone with information regarding Abner 's location in Oregon is asked to call 9-1-1 or the Oregon State Police Northern Command Center dispatch at (800) 452-7888.
