EUGENE, Ore. - With the Eugene 08 trials halfway done, it seems most of the early problems that plagued the event have been solved.

On Friday, hours-long gaps in the park and ride shuttle schedule left people stranded.

That was fixed on Saturday and now the free shuttles run continuously.

All those people riding buses means there’s plenty of nearby parking. Spots that were going for between $20 and $40 are now as low as five bucks.

Tickets and lodging were supposed to be all snapped up, but some local hotels have rooms available through the weekend. And tickets for each remaining day of competition can still be purchased through www.eugene08.com.

Plus, down at the Fan Festival, they’ve added extra bike parking to accommodate more riders, and even the broken ATMs have been repaired.

But people aren’t in the clear quite yet. One thing that still could cause problems is LTD operating on its Sunday schedule for the July Fourth holiday.

EmX service will be extended until 10:45 for festival-goers, but the last departure for most regular LTD bus routes from the Eugene and Springfield stations will be 7:30.

LTD is advising riders to be aware of the schedule and possibly make other arrangements for transport. One option is those free shuttles from Autzen Stadium and South Eugene High School , which will still run every 10 to 15 minutes until midnight.
