Dead woman's dog attracts attention to body
A forensics team investigates a dead body in West Eugene Sunday night.

EUGENE, Ore. - Police identified the body found along a paved path Sunday as that of a homeless woman who lived in a tent with her dogs in the nearby woods.

Police said Cynthia Thomas died from an unspecified medical condition. Thomas would have been 49 in February.

Her dog's barking led a pedestrian using the Fern Ridge paved trail in west Eugene to find the body.
