VENETA, Ore. - A big summer event here is about to start: the Oregon Country Fair.
Crews were busy Tuesday setting up for this weekend's big event. Every year more than 40,000 people filter through these gates to go back in time and soak in all the arts and culture. Organizers said there are plenty of new performers and artists to keep you busy.
"Everything sort of gets recreated and re-invented and re-imagined every year at the fair," said Leslie Scott, the general manager for the past 17 years who is leaving the post this year.
Leslie said all the circuses on the Vaudeville stages are brand new acts. Also new this year? Solar panels are helping power some of the event.
The fair is Friday through Sunday from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. It will cost you $18-$21 to get in depending on the day. No tickets will be sold at the gates. There will be free LTD shuttle service from several Eugene locations.
