To celebrate 30 years of animal health care services to Lane County residents, McKenzie Animal Hospital is set to host a free, public event for all ages that focuses on pet health and wellness care.

The "Pet Family Fair" activities include:

·         Springfield Police K-9 demonstrations (Shows every half hour from 3-5 p.m.)

·         Dogs at Play obstacle course (Shows every half hour from 2-6 p.m.)

·         Emerald Dog Obedience Club K-9 behavior demonstrations (3-5 p.m.)

·         Springfield Animal Control Officer Tracy Sparks talks about dog licensing

·         Lane County Animal Services provides pet overpopulation facts, plus pet bios and photos of dogs and cats ready for adoption 

·         "Pet Stop" education stations with all sorts of pet topics including the importance of home dental care, fighting canine and feline obesity, and alternative pet care treatments such as acupuncture and herbal medicine

·         Pet nurse treatment for children's "injured" toy stuffed animals

·         Door prizes and drawings for Science Diet Pet Food, a year's supply of Frontline Plus and many other pet products
