EUGENE, Ore. -- A murder-for-hire scheme resulted in Eugene's first murder of the year when a man hired a friend to murder his ex-wife's new fiance, according to Eugene Police Department.

Police arrested Dennis Richard Sheridan, 41, of Eugene and Kevin Bradley Anderson, 21, of Springfield and charged them with aggravated murder in the death of 35-year-old Lance McBride (in photo above).

McBride was engaged to marry Sharlene Sheridan.

Sheridan came home from work July 26 to find her fiance shot to death in their Randall Street home in Eugene.
