3 people sent to hospital after 3-car crash closes Beltline
The emergency response brought Beltline to a halt before lunch Thursday

EUGENE, Ore. - Firefighters cut one person from the wreckage of a car after a three-car crash on Beltline eastbound at the Willamette River late Thursday morning.

Ambulances took 3 people to Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend, including the patient extricated from the car.

The condition of the injured and the cause of the crash are not yet known.

The response closed eastbound Beltline and slowed westbound to a crawl, with traffic backing up to Coburg Road.

Traffic was slow in both directions just before noon.
