Police: No charges in fight that fell onto football field
A spectator fell from the stands to the field during Saturday's Ducks game against UCLA. By KVAL Web StaffEUGENE, Ore. -- A fight sent two young men tumbling from the stands at Autzen Stadium and onto the field near the 20-yeard line during the Duck's home game against UCLA on Saturday.
One of the men was taken by ambulance to Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend. His condition and injuries are not known. The other was taken off the field in handcuffs and ejected from the stadium but was not charged, according to Eugene police. The incident happened around 10 p.m. Saturday. (AP) - Police say a man injured during a fight at Autzen Stadium has been released from a Springfield hospital. The man and the spectator he scuffled with were fighting over a seat and tumbled from the stands onto the ground near the 20-yard line during the fourth quarter of Saturday's game between Oregon and UCLA. Police handcuffed and ejected the other man. He is not expected to face assault charges. Eugene police spokeswoman Kerry Delf said police interviewed witnesses and said appears the men were engaged in mutual combat. Delf said a police report did not include either combatant's name.
