Eugene Marathon one of 'Greenest Races'

EUGENE, Ore. -- Runner's World magazine has put the Eugene Marathon on it's list of Top 10 Greenest Races.

The list honors running events that reduce their impact on the environment.

The magazine cites the master recyclers who sort through the Eugene Marathon's trash.  About 70 percent is recycled.

A solar generator powers the event's finish line stage and vendor avenue.

Runner's World also honored two other Oregon events: the Portland Marathon and the City of Portland Triathlon.
