Bend stabbing victim still in critical condition
BEND, Ore. (AP) - Relatives of an Oregon man brutally attacked on an Ecuador beach say he remains in stable but critical condition at a Southern California hospital.
Britt Leis was stabbed repeatedly last week by men who attacked the 35-year-old Bend resident and his fiancee, Lia Koehn, on Ecuador's northern coast.
Leis underwent three surgeries in Ecuador before his evacuation to Loma Linda University Medical Center.
In a statement released Wednesday, the Leis family thanked people for their outpouring of prayers and concern.
