EUGENE, Ore. -- Armed suspects robbed a tavern Friday, a gas station Saturday, a restaurant Sunday and a private residence Monday in the Eugene area.

No one was reported injured in any of the robberies.

"While crime statistics naturally fluctuate, we are indeed seeing a higher-than-typical number of armed robberies this fall," said Kerry Delf with the Eugene Police Department.

Eugene police offer tips on how to avoid robberies -- and they are looking for tips to solve this string of crimes.

FRIDAY: The right to refuse service to anyone

A masked man with a gun demanded money from the bartender of a 6th Aveneue tavern Friday night shortly before 7 p.m. in Eugene. He approached the bartender armed with a handgun and demanded cash.

The bartender declined his request and instead retreated to an office and called 911.

The suspect then went into the main part of the bar, still brandishing his weapon, and ordered the patrons to lay on the floor. The patrons, also unmoved by the suspects pleas, refused to lay on the ground.

The suspect fired some shots into the floor of the bar before fleeing on foot.

The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic male, of unknown age, 5'10"  to 6" tall, 180 lbs., with short dark hair, and wearing a mask, a white shirt with black horizontal stripes, and unknown style pants.

If anyone has information about the suspect, they are asked to contact police at (541) 682-5111.

SATURDAY: Armed man robs gas station on foot

A man with a gun robbed the Chevron gas station on Willamette Street at 6:28 a.m. Saturday morning.

The attendant was on duty and working at the station and was approached by a single suspect when no other customers were around. The suspect approached the attendant on foot and displayed a small caliber hand gun and demanded money.

The suspect ordered attendant to lay on the floor and subsequently took cash out of the register. The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5’9”, 160, blue baggy sweat shirt, blue jean pants, unknown hat, color eyes, or hair.

SUNDAY: Two men rob restaurant

Just before 11 p.m. on Sunday, two men entered CJ’s Eatery at 2019 River Road armed with handguns. One of the suspects went behind the counter, pointed his gun at an employee and demanded cash, while the second suspect ordered patrons to the floor.

After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the two men left the business and the employee called 911.

Suspect One is described as a white male in his late 20s to early 30s, about 5’10” to 6’0” tall.  At the time of the robbery he was wearing a dark green sweatshirt, blue jeans, a blue bandana over his face, black sunglasses, and gloves.

Suspect Two is described as a white male in his 20s to 30s, about 5’10” to 6’0” tall.  At the time of the robbery he was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, blue jeans, a dark-colored ski mask, and gloves.
