Eugene science teacher named Most Valuable Teacher

Tammy Conway, Science Teacher at O’Hara Catholic School, has been named a Pearson Most Valuable Teacher for middle school in the state of Oregon. Tammy will receive an all expense paid trip to the National Science Teacher Association (NSTA) Conference in Portland on Nov. 19 to 22.

Teachers are nominated by an area representative based on their excellence, innovation and expertise in the Science classroom. At the regional NSTA Conference in Portland, only three teachers will be honored with this award; one representing each education level – elementary, middle and high school. A dinner reception will honor the award winners on the second night of the conference.

Tammy Conway has been teaching Science since 2001. She has taught at Creswell High School and Redmond High School. She now teaches 7th and 8th graders in O’Hara’s state-of-the-art science lab.
