CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) -- Members of an Oregon State University fraternity escaped a house explosion Saturday.

The Corvallis Gazette-Times newspaper reports that eight students were watching the OSU-University of California football game when Phi Kappa Psi fraternity President Christopher Gerritz smelled gas and noticed a problem in the boiler room.

Gerritz then alerted others in the house, and they all escaped seconds before the explosion.

Windows were broken and the fraternity house's living room was heavily damaged.

Police say the explosion was likely caused by a natural gas leak.

No injuries were reported.
