HARRISBURG, Ore. -- Mayor Robert Duncan plans to ride a skateboard at the grand opening of the new Harrisburg Skatepark Sunday.

The $370,000 facility was funded by $312,000 in cash donations and $23,000 in donated materials. The city paid for the balance.

The event at 550 Smith St. starts at 2 p.m. with the park open for walking. The grand opening gets going at 2:30 p.m. Participants can look forward to free hot dogs, chips and drinks.
