Armed robbers hit Eugene, Springfield
By KVAL Web StaffEUGENE, Ore. -- Armed robberies in Eugene and Springfield Wednesday have police in both communities on the hunt for suspects. In at least one of the cases, the robber worked the slide of the pistol to show the clerk the gun was real. First, an armed man entered Jasper's Deli, 1504 Coburg Road, in Eugene, Ore., around 6:15 p.m. and demanded money. The suspect tried to open the cash register, but failed. He then forced an employee to the safe, where the suspect obtained on undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect is described as a white male approximately 20 to 30 years old. He was 6-feet-2-inches tall with a thin build. He was wearing a dark baseball cap, a dark hooded sweatshirt and dark jeans with skull patches on the back pockets. Then, around 10 p.m., an armed man robbed the Lucky Lizard restaurant at 1979 Mohawk Blvd. in Springfield, Ore. The robber worked the slide on the pistol to demonstrate it was real, then demanded money. The clerk complied, and the robber stuffed the money in a pcket and ran from the business. That suspect is described as a white male, 20 to 30 years old, 6-foot-2 to 6-foot-3, with a thin build. He was wearing a camo jacket with the hood pulled over his head and had black cloth wrapped around his nose and mouth. The suspect was seen running towards a silve mid-80s sedan, similar to a Ford Thunderbird or Mercury Cougar. The driver was described as a female in her 20s with blond hair wearing a green or brown puffy jacket with a fur collar. |
