OSU teams with Nissan on electric vehicle stations

(AP) - Oregon State University hopes to take a larger role in electric and hybrid car technology with the recent announcement of a zero-emission vehicle partnership between the state and Nissan North America. The goal of the partnership is to bring zero-emission electric cars to government agencies by next year, and expand the availability of electric car charging stations around Oregon. As the campus with the largest statewide fleet, Oregon State already has two charging stations and is building up its pool of electric and hybrid vehicles. University officials say they would build stations for larger cars like Nissan is proposing, if the school is asked to participate in the project. Oregon State is discussing its potential role with the Oregon Department of Transportation.
