Face-first fall blamed for 14 year old's death
Quentin Thacker was found dead Sunday. The teen died as a result of an accident. By KVAL.com StaffLEBANON, Ore. -- A teenage boy found dead Sunday died as a result of a face-first fall into a drainage ditch, the medical examiner ruled Monday. Quentin Alexander Thacker, 14, was last seen Satruday night around 9:30 p.m. before his body was found Sunday by neighborhood children playing hide-and-seek in a vacant lot in Lebanon, Ore.. His bicycle was found nearby. Investigators believe the Lebananon High School student fell face down in a drainage ditch and that hypothermia may have contributed to his death as temperatures dipped into the 20s overnight. Investigators believe alcohol contributed to his death, which will be confirmed by toxicology tests. Those tests take about a month to complete. The case remains open pending additional interviews with witnesses and the results of the toxicological examination. The deceased was taken to Fisher’s Funeral Home in Albany pending further arrangements. |
