4 hurt in crash on Hwy 36 near Cheshire

CHESHIRE, Ore. - Four people got injured Monday afternoon in a two-car crash on Highway 36 at Dorsey Lane, two miles east of Cheshire,  Oregon State Police said.

Troopers cited both drivers for violations.

The crash happened when Caitlin Packett, 20, of Veneta drove south on Dorsey Lane from the stop sign at Hwy 36. As she crossed through the intersection, the VW was hit by a Toyota Camry westbound on Hwy 36 driven by Heather Olson, 40, of Eugene, according to state police.

The impact pushed the VW into a ditch.

Olson was taken by ambulance to Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend. A 12-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries and was treated and released to family at the scene.

Packett and her passenger, Jaime Mikilas, 18, of Veneta suffered minor injuries and were treated and released at the scene, police said.

Troopers cited Packett for Failure to Obey a Traffic Control Device - Stop Sign and Failure to Use Seatbelt. Everyone else involved was wearing a seatbelt, police said.
 
Troopers cited Olson for No Operator's License.
