Craigslist escorts invited to a party - with police
MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) — Medford police arrested five women on prostitution charges after seeing their escort ads on Craigslist and inviting them to a home where an undercover officer was waiting.
Deputy Chief Tim George says officers periodically perform such sweeps. The department sometimes focuses on the "john" side of prostitution by writing fake ads purporting to be from prostitutes. Officers then cite the men who respond to the ads.
The women cited Thursday night ranged in age from 25 to 44. George says one woman was lodged in the county jail after officers found methamphetamine in her possession.
