EUGENE, Ore. - More people than ever have lost their homes to foreclosure. But there is a group of people who might benefit from that, potential home buyers. Some real estate agents are banking on this, setting out a buffet of foreclosed homes.

Call it the foreclosure field trip. It's one bus, full of forty potential home buyers, looking at just some of the 90 plus foreclosed houses in the area.

31-year-old Christine Cameron first started looking for a house late last year.

"I'm looking for a nice house that has lots of room to grow in," said Cameron.

The tour includes ten houses, all owned by banks and real estate Broker Kit Sixel said those banks are eager to get rid of those properties.

"It means that potentially they could get a good deal," said Sixel. "... several hundred thousand dollars off the higher end houses at least."

What did Christine Cameron think of the first house?

"I'm looking forward to seeing what else the day has in store," said Cameron.

It doesn't look like she'll be moving in anytime soon.

And the second?

"I'm still looking forward to seeing all the houses on the list," said Cameron.

Unfortunately, she didn't find her dream home on the tour. But she said she's encouraged by the prices and is excited to start looking once again.

KVAL News asked Kit Sixel if there are any precautions people should take before buying a foreclosed home. She said anytime you buy a house, regardless of who owns it, it's important to get a thorough inspection.
