PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Oregon State Police say a driver whose vehicle struck a patrol car and knocked a state trooper to the ground south of Brookings faces multiple charges, including drunken driving, reckless driving and criminal mischief.
According to the State Police, Trooper David Wehner had another car stopped early Saturday on Highway 101.
Troopers say the vehicle driven by 32-year-old Charlie E. Henning III hit the left rear corner of Wehner's patrol car.
The trooper was standing on the passenger side of his car. The impact shoved the car into the trooper and knocked him to the ground, bruising him.
Henning was not injured.
Brookings police arrested and jailed Henning.
