What belongs in the Oregon encyclopedia?

CORVALLIS, Ore. -- What’s in and what’s out? That's the question facing the scholars and writers compiling the Oregon Encyclopedia of History and Culture.

William Lang, a Portland State University professor and editor-in-chief of the project, will speak at Oregon State University on the topic of “What Beavers, Ducks, Bart Simpson and Leroy Vinnegar Have in Common, or How to Make a State Encyclopedia of Oregon.”

The free public lecture begins at 4 p.m. in Memorial Union Room 208 on Monday, April 27.

Lang will try to answer the question of how the group will go about creating an Oregon encyclopedia.
