'My dad will probably think I'm crazy'
EUGENE, Ore. -- Last year C-SPAN broadcast live to more than 97 million households, not from a big news set but from a bus.
The C-SPAN bus is one of two that travels the country broadcasting and also teaching students about government.

The bus is on a tour of 100 schools in the first 100 days of the new presidential administration. KVAL News talked to a group of 8th graders after the tour.
"It was really cool just to see that like a bunch of presidents have been on this bus," said Sophia Kearney.
"Me and Holley actually got to sit in the chairs," said Hannah Gilbert. "So that was pretty cool to see how the cameras work and stuff and that was pretty neat."

The girls said the recent presidential election helped fuel their interest.
"It made everything make a lot more sense actually," said Sophia.
All of the students said they were excited to go home and turn on C-SPAN.
"My dad will probably think I'm crazy," said Sophia.
It looks like the wheels on these civic minds are already rolling. The bus has been to all 50 states, including Alaska and Hawaii.
