REEDSPORT, Ore. -- Two witnesses who saw a pickup go off Highway 101 and crash into a guardrail attempted to give the injured driver CPR before the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Robert Eugene Boyle, 56, of Junction City, Ore., was northbound on Highway 101 when he drove off the highway and up an embankment. The truck came back across the highway and crashed into a guardrail, according to state police.

Police think he may have suffered a medical problem while driving 12 miles north of Reedsport.

Two witnesses stopped and unsuccessfully attempted to provide CPR before Boyle was pronounced deceased at the scene.
